O rei do Pop, Michael Jackson morreu hoje aos 50 anos de idade. A informação é oficial do Hospital da Universidade da California, em Los Angeles, nos Estados Unidos.

O cantor sofreu uma parada cardíaca em sua casa e foi levado, de ambulância, para o hospital. O Instituto de Medicina Legal dos EUA confirmou a morte de Michael por infarto.

O socorro foi chamado às pressas à casa de Michael pouco depois do meio-dia desta quinta-feira. O capitão Steve Ruda, responsável pela equipe de resgate, afirmou que os paramédicos da ambulância verificaram que o cantor não estava respirando, e foi realizada uma massagem cardíaca em Michael dentro do veículo de socorro.

Segundo amigos próximos, Jackson teria dito que tinha a certeza que morreria em breve.
